Seriously, human-COW embryos? And they say this ISN'T going to lead to the creation of human-animal hybrids/monsters?

Not that I'm against stem cell research to try to cure illnesses and improve quality of life, but these are the kinds of shenanigans that politicians are using to try to get that sort of thing banned.
Seriously, whose idea was this, anyway?
